sort of

the Laguna started in 73 as the Chevelle Laguna and when they dropped the chevelle from the name it became the S-3 Laguna in 1974 basically the same front end just different grille blinker styles

the 73 was a round blinker and the 74 was a square blinker and emblems were also different 1973 Chevelle Laguna had a Bowtie in dead center of grill and chevelle script below the drivers side blinker

1974 Had a similar S-3 emblem as 75 76 NOT exactly like it but close and it had lost the chevelle script as well below the blinker

73 had Chevelle, SS and Laguna was the Luxury type model, I think Malibu was the 1 up from entry.
74 they dropped SS and called the sport model Laguna S3, and the luxury/top of the line became malibu classic, with Chevelle Malibu being the "base" model. Coupe or sedan
So... my first car was a 1974 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Classic Coupe, My current car is a 1975 Chevrolet Chevelle Laguna S3 Coupe(no sedan was offered as Laguna). (Whew!) And Laguna ended in 76
One of the guys here (Rago??) posted a link last week that listed all of the brochures for older cars, I'm gonna take a look at 'em and verify that.
Chevy went a little bit nutty with all of the different trims on cars during this era, Monte Carlo, Monte Carlo Landau etc.etc. I can't even keep it all straight.

According to the brochure for 1975:
Malibu-coupe or sedan
Malibu Classic-coupe or sedan with Landau option available
Laguna S3 -coupe only

So...you could have had a 1975 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Classic Landau Coupe.

I ain't makin that s^&t up either. My brain hurts, I ain't even getting into that combining SS and S3 crap. The Laguna grills were definitely different for every year except 75-76

Were the other G3 options that goofy?

Monte Carlo just had Monte Carlo S and Monte Carlo Landau. Landau package included half vinyl roof, Turbine II wheels(15x7 rallys optional), special upper door panels, dual sport mirrors, body side trim, bumper impact strips, passenger visor vanity mirror, pin striping from back of door to front of fender. I think that's all.

For the 73 Chevelle line, you can't forget the Deluxe.

1. Chevelle Deluxe.
2. Chevelle Malibu.
3. Chevelle SS.
4. Chevelle Laguna.
