Greetings from California!

Post by eboklund73 on Thu Jul 28, 2016 3:21 pm

Hello everyone. My name is Eric, a recent new member to G3GM. My brother Carl, who is working on a 73 SS Chevelle, has been a member and turned me on to the site. I am very impressed.

I am in the process of a frame off restoration of a triple black 73 Monte Carlo. I picked it up a few years ago for some drive drain parts but looked over how many factory options and decided it needed to be back on the road. Found the original build sheet showing it was made in Fremont, CA. It has the 454/400 with Landau and S options. It has power windows, door locks, 6-way seat, tilt, a/c, cruise, rear sway bar. I am adding a posi and rear window defroster. The motor and trans have been rebuilt and are sitting in a fresh media blasted and painted frame with new bushings all around. Starting to put body parts back together.

I recently purchased another 73 MC (Silver Toupe color, also made in Fremont, CA) as a parts car. It has a 350/350 with tach/gauges (with harness), 15 x 7 rallys with very good trim rings and centers, sway bar (front & rear), dual-exhaust cross-member, a-arms, spindles, etc. I would like to see parts go to a good home. Fender extensions, grille, bumpers (front with guards), tail lights and housings and some trim (no front bumper fillers). I recently removed the rear stainless trim that goes under the trunk lid and it is very good (with 2x special plastic slide mounts). Fenders, doors, tinted door, opera and rear glass, regulators (manual), latches, etc. It came with a stock AM Radio and one rear speaker. The roof, trunk and pans are rusted through. This car will never see the road again, unfortunately. But for those interested in parts to keep others going, feel free to let me know. I can start posting some pictures after a quick tutorial of your site.

I also have a few interior parts from a 74 MC that I parted out a couple of years ago and a set of four 14 x 7 turbine style (urethane fins - no centers or rings).

Again, it is a pleasure to join and I look forward to participating as a new member.

Thanks - Eric
