Front sway bar: swap, or leave it alone? Empty Front sway bar: swap, or leave it alone?

Good morning, gentlemen:

My '74 Grand Prix SJ is currently equipped with a 1 1/8" diameter front sway bar. I have replaced the bushings and end links with polyurethane. The car still rolls a tick more than I'd like; will there be a marked improvement by swapping to a 1 1/4" bar?

I have also found both 1 5/16" and 1 3/8" (!!) bars available for our cars....if the consensus here is that the 1 1/4" bar won't make much difference over what I have now, I will save my pennies for one of the bigger bars.

Thoughts?

TQ

Matters what your looking to do with the car. Road race it? Or just street driving ? I would search the net for sway bar sizing ratios. You want them to work as a package. One substantially bigger than the other will cause under steer or oversteer.

This will be street driven. Ill look up the front/rear ratios and see what I come up with. Thanks!
