Chevelle Roof & Belt Line Stripes?

So I'm surfing the web & I run across this:

I always thought 73 Chevelles had the stripes running down the bottom of the car along the sides. Guess I've never seen an actual car with this stripe although it would give a vintage vibe to the car. Is this like a separate option or did it come on certain packages? (SS or maybe Laguna)

Theres an old guy not far from here with a 73 in nice shape and its got the stripe on the side with the chevy emblem. That guy never leaves his car when his wife goes in the store.

Limey, after I saw the graphic I figured that was the deal. What about the stripes along the bottom that are normally seen on 73's? Like this:

How did GM determine which stripe was applied to what vehicle? After looking around I'm beginning to wonder if the SS got the lower stripes & the Malibus or maybe even Lagunas got the Phoenix Graphix style. I can't find any proof of these stripes even existing other than their website so IDK.

that stripe is for the SS only and the other was offered as an option for 73 deluxes and very base models

Thanks for clarifying Limey, I kind of figured that was the deal. Ant, definitely get some pics. I'd like to find a decent stripe to break up the solid color myself...... one of these days.

When im in that town I'll try to get a picture. I see that car kind of randomly
its dark red with a white top and has the stripe in white .Its a 73 and in really nice shape too.

The guy looks to be about 80 yrs old .I really think he bought it new.
