I said screw it and left the old ones in I inspected them and they looked fine. I'll just return the new ones.

Mine looked fine too with the engine out. New engine in with more torque and and we broke one. I wish we had taken the time to replace both before the engine went back in.

You can always put a turnbuckle on the driver side head to the frame.
