Color code for 1976/1977 red

My Monte Carlois going to the painters soon. Inspired by the Laguna ( / Monte Carlo ) from Cannonball Run, I am having it painted red. I need the color to look as 70's as possible, so my question is: what's the name or code for the 1976/ 77 red Laguna flying into the swimming pool in the beginning of the movie? It seems the Monte Carlo they switched to a little later in the movie, also has the same type of red.
I know there are about a handful of different versions of red, for the 76/77 model year. Does anybody know what type of red, GM would have put on an A- body back then?

Code 72 medium red possibly

That's what my Monte is painted. It's the brightest red I know of offered on any "A" body.

I think the code 72 medium red looks spot on. It must not be too light, just plain good old fashioned red, on the darker side I guess.

What other darker shades of red where offered on A-bodies?
