Re: Frame Bracing
Thanks Joe. I was thinking the same thing. In your pic, It looks like they are hitting the e-brake cable bracket. Are they?

Re: Frame Bracing
I was very close. I could have just bent the bracket a touch but I decieded to just put a washer between the arm and the frame. Worked perfect.

Re: Frame Bracing
Joe or someone with the DMR bars. Could I bug you to measure this for me? No rush. When you can get to it. I don't want to order them if they won't clear the exhaust either. Thanks!!!

Re: Frame Bracing
Best I can get with my dial caliper, upside down, is 1.800". So just a hair over 1 3/4". Maybe call DMR to confirm.

Re: Frame Bracing
Cool. So it looks like the dmr braces are almost and inch shorter on the front mounting point.

Re: Frame Bracing
There are different part numbers between their below 500hp and above 500hp brackets but when I sent an email asking if there was a difference in the part their reply was simple... "no".

Re: Frame Bracing
Thanks much for the info guys!!! Hopefully I can return the favor. The global west measure 2 11/16". DMR's will clear with room to spare.

I love when the tech line says "no". That's customer service for sure.

I hate crappy customer service. Why make a product and not help those who are supporting your business? Just ridiculous sometimes

Re: Frame Bracing
I just noticed the link to the 4 page thread from 3 yrs ago that Joe put up. I didn't see it at first. Good read. Could have saved myself the trouble. Joe, looks like your are missing a poly/rubber thrust washer on your LCA? Those are energy suspension bushings in your pics?

Re: Frame Bracing
Yes, they are energy suspension. Â Brand new set. Â I tossed out the old energy suspension ones I had in there from the early 90s or so. They have been great. Â Poly/rubber thrust washer on the lca? Â I'm unsure what your referring to.

Re: Frame Bracing
In your first pic, It looks like it is missing on the e-brake cable side. I can see the gold bushing shell. You should have 4 of them. They go on the rear axle end also. They are about 3/8" thick. The bushings at the top of the pumpkin should also have them. They are about 1/2" thick. There should be several different ones in your kit. The instructions say which ones to use.

Re: Frame Bracing
Ok, now I know what your talking about. Neither my original old kit nor my new kit had them or even mentioned them in the instructions.

Re: Frame Bracing
Odd. I don't know how important they are. I'm thinking maybe they are there to stiffen it up side to side? Under hard cornering? Maybe something to do with squeaking? FWIW my kit is about 6 yrs old.
Instructions call it a thrust washer. Maybe give them a call.

Re: Frame Bracing
Its the same set I replaced and havent had any issues nor squeaking. And the cars has always ran great drag racing it and hard launches. I'll leave it be.

Re: Frame Bracing
Hey. Â I forgot I started this thread. Â Here is what I did to my frame. Â I boxed the upper, lower, and rear of my lower control arm mounts. Â I added the Global West braces as well. Â
