A 75 Monte with a 454 would have had a typical orange engine, right ?

From what I dug up a couple years ago, small blocks use orange red and big blocks use orange.

Dupli-color DE1607 for small blocks and DE1620 for big blocks.

You can also have an auto body supply mix up anything you like in base coat / clear coat. It will withstand temps to 400 degrees.

Here's a pic of a '74 Monte with factory 454 that came into one of the local yards a couple yrs ago. As for what shade of orange...can't confirm.

Very nice, thanks :-)
I suppose there weren’t that many different shades of orange to choose from.

Plastikote 200 should be spot on and as far as I can tell, de1620 and plastikote 200 is the same shade of orange.

Picked up a 454 that is going on the Monte instead of the 350 from an 89 van :-)
Could be worse right :-)
