Maybe a good way to introduce a wild HP engine, for the Corvette, but why would anyone really want to drive an animal like that ?? The HP race is alive & well again, and aside from bragging rights, it doesn't make a lot of sense...

That is cool!

Gotta like this guy's comment. Hopefully it gets a lot of down votes.

Ssshhhhh! Someone over there likes the G3's -- don't rain on their/our parade. I'd rather encourage that kind of thinking.

And while I wouldn't drive it to work daily, I sure wouldn't mind taking it for a spin!

very nice our generation is getting "some" coverage.  I applaud those who are daring to be "different".

Also , lets not forget that last year (2017) a Monte was at SEMA as well. And of course , no official mention.

Hey....I like 68-72 Chevelles too!.....but how many did you see this summer ??

Not trying to be haughty here, but - 755 HP is not all that much these days.

I'm at 825 at the wheels and would love to have more.   The car is very docile on the street - until you get on the throttle.

If we were looking for something that makes sense we would be in a different hobby fer sure.

Makes me wonder if even the folks at GM are getting tired of seeing the same ole, same ole over and over. Tri-five chevys, first gen camaros, and earlier chevelles.

Maybe thats why they chose the 73. I saw a 71 or 72 at a show a few years back hi-lighting the latest LS crate engine at the time. nice car, but you  see them everywhere. It is nice to see something different for once.

I've always been a fan of cars from the 70's. I think it is due to the era I grew up in. It's generational. My dad for instance , more enjoyed cars from the 50's early 60's. Our cars are now getting some attention. Cheaper to acquire. Plentiful parts.
Body panels are at times a stretch to find along with other associated small parts that make our cars different cosmetically year to year. But , we arent driving "catalog cars" either ! Also , I would say the more staff in publications and aftermarket employed in automotive type businesses from our generation are seeing some appreciation in the 70's as well. The 70's were the era of "personal luxury" as the government ...killed the "muscle car". Fuel crisis ,etc. Detroit had to find a way to infuse some enthusiasm back into cars...thus "personal luxury" to sell. Here are some numbers to think about :
290k Montes
154k Grand Prix
219k Cutlass Supremes
91k Regals

All of these numbers were for the 73 model year. The Monte improved sales year to year with 411k sold in 77.
1.5 million over its 5 years. Now take all the car models mentioned above with combined sales.

Detroit sold a whole lot more "personal luxury" cars than they ever did muscle cars ! Don't get me wrong , I enjoy the late 60's metal style , power. But , as mentioned in the above post...Its nice to see something different and the attention.
