Did not know that inability to pass new crash standards was the reason for the Astro/Safari cancellation. Always thought that van was far superior in terms of durability to smaller fwd minivans. And they kept it in production for twenty years, like the S10 without major changes. The replacement vehicles since - are not as durable and surely cost far more to fix.
