Black suede would look nice, but how hot will it make your car in the summer? Serious question here, I don't know if using leather is gonna affect anything. Would look bada$$ if done right though. If you are getting rid of the dome light, why not run the wiring to the rearview mirror & upgrade to a newer style rearview with individual lights for each side? That should be an easy trick to save you in case you need the light. Idea

never thought about lihted mirror might be cool, i was thinking more like LEDs under the front seats and dash hidden away. not ricer neon but some led universal interior lighting.

I have a couple different mirrors to try and get to work.My dome light wires are toast, and I was going to put the cutlass opera lights on the sides by the opera windows and have the r-v mirror. I am still himhawin whether or not to put one of the power moon roofs I have on my car.

the moon roof would be sick! I'm planning on doing that if my buddy can find me a moon roof! I would love to get one from a 78-80 Cadillac Coupe Deville, or a 78-79 Lincoln Continental.

Yeah but it has to be flush with the roof. Remember those ugly ones that would have the pop up glass? They always stuck up about 1/4" from the rooftop & were Barf . Not to mention the leaking.
