how do i adjust reverse lights

when i put my car into reverse the lights come on about midway between nuetral and reverse how do i adjust it the car is column shift automatic

neutral safety switch is out of adjustment .Down at the end of the column sort of looks like a 1/4 moon with a plug going into it. There is 2 screws on either end of it loosen and adjust slightly most likely clockwise. I put the car in reverse with the selector in reverse chock the wheels and gently move till the lights come on when you want them too.
