70 monte carlo is it worth it

hey i ve found a 70 monte in a junk yard yeah it needs help but it has the original eng /350 but its a factory 4 spd car with no air plan jane bench seat car it does have the ss gauge pkg and rallys and rust i can get this car for 2200 no trans he jacked up the price on me me i showed some interest in it heres a couple of pic,s let me know what you guys thing i think i remember a 10 bolt with sway bar thanks

Well if you break it down, the tach dash it probably worth close to a grand with the wiring and all. The rest of the car is probably not worth much. 10 bolt about $150, 350 engine $200.

Id offer $1500-$1800 at most. Id say $2200 is worth it if the trans was still there.

i soooo want one of those cars! but id say 2200 is a bit high

well like he said he showed some intrest and the guy jacked up the price lol

tom i think it would be a pretty cool car to restore if you got it for 1800-1900$. and i would love to have that 59 impala/biscayne in front of that monte

Part of the fun and challenge of the game is in the negotiating. Unfortunately the junk yard is an old pro at this and has already spotted you as the mark. However, you can increase your odds by going over there with $1500 in cash and plopping it down on the counter. I'd be willing to bet you they'd accept your offer. If not, throw in another $300 and it's yours. Cash talks and you'll get your car. Be sure it has a good title.

In my opinion, a factory 4-speed Monte is not going to be offered very often. Grab it while you can.
