I'd buy it for $1500 or so. You could plop down the cash & if he doesn't take what you want to pay for it, then act DIS-interested. It might be a factory four speed car, but without the four speed it might as well be just another Monte.

i dont know man...i dont know how common they are in your area...but in southern california you can get drivable 1st gen montes for thats kind of money if you look hard enough.

as far as i know they all came with the "ss" style dash and i believe ALL 1st gen montes came with a 12 bolt. it looks rough but it depends on how much you love the car if its worth it...and on your area...where i live, i can get one running for that money.

the car was bought new in e-town ky and yes he has a clear ky title and the trans is a common 4 spd the engine is the one to have right with vin # matching up to the cars vin. ill talk with him on monday and jerk his chain a little then leave ill low ball him see where that goes i queses / this isnt my first rodeo but it is a money thing i already have one project the 74 laguna 4spd car i just found again after all these years so what to do what to do crap may be i can trade my wife off ? Smile

it is a factory 4 spd car kinda hard to come by we have montes here also so good some bad i cant remember if it was 10 or 12 bolt ill look again on monday thanks guys for all the feed back

Too much for that car. Get it for 800 bucks and thats it.You can buy a nice one for 5-6 grand that just needs a little work not every possible thing.

whatever u offer him take it in $10 $20s and $50, make the stack look bigger then what it is. It usually works for my brother, he's been able to get his last 3 projects cheaper then listed or asked for.

yeah, but its a 4 speed car without the original 4 speed, so the extra money youd be paying just for that VIN is pointless.
