Dude.... you are flat out killing me today. You need to count the bolts on the differential (pumpkin) (round thing in the middle of the axles). That's what differentiates a 10 bolt from the 12 bolt.....

A 10 Bolt rear has 10 bolts - Can you guess how many a 12 Bolt rear has? Smile

obviously but i always thought ten bolt rears were c uz theres 5 lugs on each wheel, and the 12 was 6 bolts on each wheel.
the only thing i need to learn about a car is more about the engine and trans and rear end. srry i dont have as much experience as you for i have only had my el camino for 2 or 3 years

Not a big deal 8.5 10 bolts are nearly as strong as 12 bolts anyways. It sounds like you have a good deal going for you. At least the owner isn't a total stranger & you seem to know quite a bit about it's condition.

Well you saw what I dealt with at the end of that thread. It's fixable. Worst case scenario, or possibly best case since you can weld is just cutting everything off & finding a better roof at a salvage yard.

yup here is my current project and is whats left of the 90 F150 mainly the frame and transfercase. the 351 needs rebuilt and we found a carned one all ready for cheap and the trans was shot so we are getting a new one

we made a floor from the hood of the F150 and compleatly are making a bed from scratch

for some the trickier spots might try my hand at fiberglassing on the chevelle. mainly where there are alot of curvs
