For the adrenaline rush. Cars don't get my blood pumping like they used to, motorcycles are fun to an extent, but laying on the ground pushing anything over 50mph is exhilarating. I done this in my other kart with no cage & no seat belt on a hilly curvy backroad. When the front wheel bearing broke I thought I was toast. Lucky for me I stopped it before wrecking. I fixed the wheel, put on a different motor, limited the speed to about 15mph & gave it to my son. My new one is caged with a harness & the motor is the same one used in early Formula 500 cars. Should be a blast, but if not I'll be dishing this out. Don't let the fanciness fool you though. I could build that exact same go kart for less than a grand.

Re: THIS GUY HAS LOST ALL HIS MARBLES NO FREAKING WAY I WOULD RIDE IT
Not gonna lie. The first time I got up to about 40mph while laying that close to the ground, I was scared. After I got used to it, I laid the hammer down & probably got around 50 mph judging by how fast I passed my buddy on a motorcycle. This was just with a modified Briggs flathead motor & good gearing. Can't wait to get a twin cylinder two stroke on one. Not really an experience I can describe.
On a side note, please show me a rat rod that cost under a grand to purchase, build, & be drivable. It can't be done & even if it was possible, it wouldn't be as fun.

x2
Besides, no car corners like those carts to. It's just physically impossible.
I believe the end of this discussion would be, "Don't knock it till you try it."

I live in the country with miles of backroads & hardly ever see police out here in the boondocks. I could literally drive about 3 hours without going on the same road twice & still never go into a town. Backroads around here are all mostly paved & will take you around the outskirts of all of the towns. IDK I guess us country boys can have more fun than you city slickers, LoL!

And you never had any grown up toys? I don't know what I would do without them. Oh yeah that's right...... I'd probably already have my car running.
Still yet ATVs, go karts, dirtbikes, mini choppers, etc. are just too much fun to pass up for me.
