Hurst Quarter Stick in a factory console

I was thinking about putting a Hurst Quarter Stick Pistol grip into my car, but would like to keep the factory console intact. I have a 76 Malibu. Has anyone used this shifter in their console yet? If so, how did it fit and where there any modifications required?
