help!

Post by 77malibu77 on Sat Sep 18, 2010 1:42 pm

every time i start my car now my temp light on the top left side of my dash bezel keeps flickering on and off. the car is running like normal and nothing seems wrong with it except for that light. wats the problem with it? and none of my gauges work for oil/temp/and amps so i cant really see how high the temp is.

Is it after the engine is warmed up or does it happen when you know the engine is cold?

Sounds like you have a loose ground wire somewhere. JB

Thats the trouble, its a lot of work finding the right ground wire. I am not an electrician, but if someone had a multimeter they could find it pretty fast. JB

Guess what. I worked on the ones I had and managed to salvage enough of what I had to make them work. I have been out there all day. Got so tired I tried to take a nap and was too tired to go to sleep. So...I wont need them anymore. I am going to a car show tomorrow and hope to sell it. That is the reason I busted my buns trying to get 'er ready. JB

Look for the blue wire in back of the motor I bet its touching something and making the light come on.

theres 2 blue wires. one goes to the windsheild washer pump. and one is directly behind the block but its not hooked up to anything? its a really skinny wire

It like a 14 gauge wire, that sounds like it . Look at the end see if its snipped or touching something and just tape it off. If it comes on after that you might have a break some place in the wire touching .

no its not snipped. it has a plug at the end of it but its not plugged into anything, it must have been touching the engine block somehow.
thanks ant if it comes on i will post something on here again. gave you street cred thanks for the help.
