Rear sway bar mounting

Post by A_Tame76 on Wed Oct 06, 2010 8:49 pm

Does anyone have any pictures they can send me or post showing how exactly the rear sway bar mounts to the lower control arms? My car never had one from the factory, but I picked a used one up with the...two "U" channels that each have four mounting bolts in them. Any pics sooner the better would be very helpful. Thanks guys.

let me link I dont have an actual pic while I was under car but I can grab one tomorrow and show ya, but it does show the parts I used and they only bolt up one way and your control arm MUST have the provision for the sway bar already or wont work........

If the sway bar has the bolt holes in vertical orientation, there should also be a U-bracket that fits inside the LCA for the bar to bolt to.

A_TAME76 see how the bolt holes are offset that is how they go into LCA

well sway bar is in and was a perfect fit with the NIB brackets and the sway bar from the caprice 9C1 police package from mid 90's, if you get new brackets remember to hang onto the 8 self tapping bolts you will need them for the new bracket for the side holes are not threaded and you have to run the bolts in before mounting the brackets to thread them..............

OLD SWAY BAR

NEW SWAY BAR BIG DIFFERENCE

yup....makes perfect sense.
I just had my old 350 trans takin outta the car and had a new built up 400 put in. Also took out the 3500 stall and had a 12" 2500 stall in it from a 70 LS-6 car. The 3500 stall had a TON of slip in it and wasn't right for the big block. The old stall worked when I used to have the small block in it. Have a Hurst Pistol grip shifter in it now.
