I know it's a 2nd gen, but when's the last time you saw a 70-72 Chevelle in this complete of condition with a 454 included for this cheap? I almost flipped my lid.

Cool. Beer

I tried talking one of my brothers into it, but he wants a 4wd. Sure beats the stripped down 70 SS for sale around here for $8,000. Even if it does have a Muncie.

Depends. If you take Rt. 66 (I usually do) then it's a little more than an hour but you don't pay toll. Up I-44 & shoot off of the Baxter exit it's about 45 minutes as long as they aren't doing construction (they usually are though so figure an hour).

More Cheap Chevelles. Did the bottom drop out on Early A Body values or what?

67 - $1,250 http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/2074475927.html

70 Solid, 454, looks mostly finished - $3,500 http://springfield.craigslist.org/cto/2079536215.html
70 - $2,200 http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/2054771990.html
71 - $2,500 http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/2045835771.html
71 red 4 door - $1,500 http://springfield.craigslist.org/cto/2104168249.html
72 - $1,600 http://springfield.craigslist.org/cto/2115179900.html
72 - $1,400 http://springfield.craigslist.org/cto/2104168249.html
72 Nice & running - $3,500 http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/2069730025.html

There were several other Cutlasses & such, but these are just a selection of the dirt cheap A Bodies that have been popping up as of lately. BOP cars never really shot into the stratosphere like Chevelles & none of them were as high priced as the 70-72 models with 70 being the worst. Looks like now is the time to buy one. Here's a Buick that I had to post:

Don't think it's just the Early A Bodies that are feeling the drop in values. People out there are really hurting in this economy and just realize they don't (or, won't) have the money to restore their projects and sadly, are having to unload them for quick cash. I hear it on a regular basis from owners of all kinds of cars with parts I find for people. Sending out a dome light today (N/C) to a poor guy who is unable to even come up with the $18.50 we agreed on.

I wrote to one of you already but if I could get anyone's help I would greatly appreciate it.... I'm looking for a 70-77ss Chevelle. A complete fixer upper just need the body/frame so that they can build from the ground up. Don't have allot of money to spend but honestly $2000 is the absolute highest I can go.

Thank You JB. Struggling with this hunt, especially in my neck of the woods. 10 years ago I got rid of his 1977 Chevy Malibu Sedan because it didn't like me...... 10 years later I realize just how much that car meant to him! After finding out they crushed it 6 years ago I am now in hunt for his dream a 1976 Chevelle ss but honestly I think any model between 70-77ss will suffice my absolute terrible judgement. So for our 10 year anniversary I intended on finding one he could restore with our sons, however I only have 2 weeks left before my deadline is up... EKKK!!!

In the 73-77 chevelle line up, the SS was only produced in 1973. Although '76 did have an El Camino SS.

Might check this one out. Just north of Mpls., MN. Not a SS...but, that's nothing more than some badging and trim...which could be added if desired. Be sure to inquire about rust!!!

If I weren't in AZ this week, I could run up there and check it out if it sounded promising. Feel free to PM me if you need some help...or, have questions regarding availability of parts/sheet metal to get it restored. Good luck!
