Gotta Luve G-Body's

Post by OnTheBottle on Mon Nov 15, 2010 2:08 pm

I've had lots of G-Bodies over the years. The last of the real GM muscle in my book.

My favorite being the Grand National. I've owned 3 over the years.
My first was a t-top cruiser

My second was a street brawler

My third was an all out pro/streeter.

I started building a radical twin turbo motor, and re-doing the front chassis for a fiberglass nose, but it started to get away from me cost wise, and it wound up sitting for many years 1/2 built. I ended up selling it and all my cars, to fund my move to AZ. Although I miss the GN, it was the best move I ever made.

I love that 86 Monte. I would like to get my 78 Elky backhalfed on the frame like in that one shot. I am physically handicapped now and can't do it myself. Do you have any idea what it would cost to have it backhalfed by someone else? JB

I've actually been in AZ 3 years now. Hard to believe how time flies.

Yeah, I'm on Chitown. I was all over there selling my stuff before I moved. Haven't been on in a wile. I was thinking of putting the Salon on there to see if it got any interest. But if I remember right you need so many post to sell stuff, and my posts are so old, I'm probably back to 0...lol.

I know Jeff's car better than I know him. I actually sold a few cars to Tom "SMOKINV6" threw Chitown.

Mine was done years ago at C.A.R.E. Facilities race cars over at 5289 W. Columbus, in Chicago. Talk to Tommy over there and tell him Big Mike sent you 773-476-0004. He's the best chassis guy around. My friend just sent his 69 Falcon to him, from all the way out here from AZ.....He's just that good. Twisted Evil

Thanks for the recommendation. I was wondering about cost. I have to decide whither to backhalf it or to sell it for a song with rust in the rear of the frame. JB

It cost me 5k with the cage back in 99. At that time it was 3500 without the cage.

Thanks. Hmmm...it might be worth it. The basic body is rust free and straight. JB
