Re: Always learning something
Just found a 1975 Chevelle brochure. Look at the headlight bezels. You can clearly see they are for a 74. I'll also scan the 75 Elky with the 74 front when I get a chance. Tell me this ain't strange! (RIGHT CLICK & VIEW IMAGE if you can't see the whole thing.

Changing that rear glass in a Classic might be a project, since it's the full sized window with metal & filler around the opera window opening. I discovered that when I did my Malibu after removing (permanently) the vinyl top.

Re: Always learning something
Well this sucks. My scanner quit working so it might be a while before I can scan the picture that I referenced earlier. Anyways, it's a 1976 El Camino with the base grille & 74 headlight bezels & bumper! It also has a white vinyl top on beige paint & full hubcaps. This is supposedly brochure photos from back in the day so if anyone has any 1976 El Camino brochures lying around you should be able to see what I'm talking about.

My parts book for 1971-77 shows that the headlight bezels for '74 and the'75 standard are the same, P/N 385509 and 385510, while the '75 classic and the '76 and '77 standard, P/N 345385 and 345386, are the same. In other words,'74 & '75 are different than '76 and '77 with the single headlights.
