They're predicting up to 15 inches here.
I'll believe it when I see it.

Re: here we go again
I just heard on the radio we could get up to 11" here over the next two days. All of this after a 70* weekend.
At least I got some work done on the car. If the damn weather would stay clear, I could be driving her again within a week or so. She's getting close.

That's a '65 Chevelle. One behind it is a '67 Tempest. You can't make them out, but in the upper right corner, there is a '77 Cutlass Supreme, '73 Cutlass S, '73 Chevelle Malibu and a '73 Chevelle Laguna. Also, that gold blob in the far left upper corner is a '77 Monte with "junk in it's trunk". Already got 3-4" of snow this morning.

You don't know how many times I hear that story repeated by car guys all over this country. We, too, used to have many more around the Twin Cities area but I know at least some of them were driven out of business by city planners who thought they were an eyesore. And like you say, the rest decided to take advantage of scrap values when they were high and focus on later models. One huge yard in western MN was taken over by the owner's son and, in an apparent stroke of genius, thought it better to crush all the old stuff (dating back to the 30's) and concentrate on newer stock. Word has it he has regretted that move since most of his customer base disappeared...DUH!!

The exact same thing happened just last year to the yard just 1/4 mile away. The father passed, the sons disputed a little, then the younger two destroyed most everything when they decided that towing & auto repair was a more profitable business. I know that family & the eldest even went to my bachelor party. The real crying shame was seeing a large collection of 1940 Fords go bye bye, but quite a few other good cars like a 67 Nova SS, a row of 68-72 A Bodies, & several rows of mid 70's stuff were sent to the crusher. There's still a couple of cars left, but not much.

I'm getting the start of what looks like a snow storm. Indiana's supposed to get a couple inches of ice and a foot of snow, but that's probably a reeeeaaally big guess. It looks pretty tolerable so far.
Oh, and we don't have any decent wrecking yards around here. They all deal with stuff that's been recently wrecked. Most cars stay in the yard for a week then get scrapped. It makes finding Blazer parts a PITA.
