Here's some pics I took today. Notice the rusty hood & roof. Yeah, the entire car looked like that before. Much better without the Furd Truck hubcaps too.

Just think that I almost pulled it apart & scrapped it. The interior was it's saving grace. Still needs sanded down & painted. I might just sand it down, fix the rust, & shoot a couple layers of primer. Don't really feel like putting in the work of getting the body perfect for paint & then having to wet sand & then having to clear coat.

You know Kyle, if you are THAT jealous, it is for sale. LOL! I usually only keep vehicles for 4-6 months before getting something different (Brown Eye excluded).

If I ever get another car, it will be a 2000-2005 Monte Carlo Wink

Wise man once said "pass up those years of Monte". My dad bought one off of the dealer floor. Less then a year later he traded it off. Headlights were temperamental, trim pieces were falling off, & a few other irritating things had already started up.

To give you an idea of how he treats his cars, he bought a 95 Z28 when it was two years old. He kept it in the garage at all times, but still hand washed it once a week. He has owned a 99 Tahoe for about 11 years. It now has nearly 400,000 miles & still runs like new. His cars lead a very pampered life.

Funny. My mom had an 01, she has an 03 now, my grandma has an 02 and my uncle in Florida has one too. Can't remember the year though, but it's that generation. And not one trouble at all with any of them.

No car is perfect. They're going to have trouble eventually. Hell, I've had a few problems with my 98 MC. Gotta fix another one today. Would it ever steer me away from them? Never.

Lookin' good, Rago! Would love to see it in person if you still have it when I'm in your area at the end of June during my road trip.

Trust me. The pictures do the car plenty of justice on the body. The interior is surprisingly nice though. A dash pad & headliner replacement would do the car well, but I'm more concerned with all of this rust. Can't believe how well she runs though. The suspension is tight, it shifts out like new, & even the engine has plenty of power left in it.

Not sure if you still have this, but that car is in really good shape. the hood and roof is just typical surface rust, didn't look really rusty at all. with that interior it was more than likely an admin or a detectives car, patrol cars didn't get the civi seats.

Jim, I sold the car. Hated doing it, but I couldn't afford the gas at the time. I drove 30 minutes to work every day & it was keeping me broke. The rust was worse than the pics show. There was no sheetmetal left along the bottom of the quarters or behind the back doors. The rust was more than just surface rust on the hood & roof, as I tried sanding it out. PITA... The frame also had a small rust hole just forward of the axle on the driver side. The engine ran like a raped ape for what it was though. Always fired up & could lay rubber like no other, lol! Also, I'm sure it was a trooper car. The badge on the doors were huge & the guy I got it from knew the original driver. Was bought new for the trooper & drove by him until he retired in 1999. He then purchased it & it sat under a tree collecting sap & rusting away after he drove it for a couple of years. I suppose I gave the old car a second chance at life.

I sold it to a guy for $900 & he was more than happy. Last I knew, he was building a sleeper.
