Hello...
Hello, my name is Lei and i'm the proud owner of a '77 El Camino with a 350 ci.
My hometown is Weert in the Netherlands, over here it's rare to have a american car, but there are more people who have the same addiction as I have.
I bought my ride in 2003, it is my first american car and now I'm addicted to the V8 sound.
In the background Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial in Margraten, Netherlands

Re: Hello...
Welcome Lei. very nice car you have there. How bad do cars over there rust out? Here in the USA rust is a problem in a large part of the country with a few areas with no rust problems to speak of. JB

Re: Hello...
Nice Elkie! The European cars seem to be in much better shape on average than the ones over here, at least by what I've seen via this and other forums.

Re: Hello...
hey, i didnt see the photos on the other computer, i do see them now however and it looks even better than i imagined.
about rust problems in europe, its much like in usa. in places that get snow during the winter, the cars will rust if driven during wintertime and if not perfectly protected. on the other hand, i live in the part with mediterannean climate and can drive my car for allmost 12 months a year. but when the temps drop below freezing and the roads are salted, i have to wait for the rain to wash the roads. i go to university approx. 50 miles inland and the situation is completely different. temperatures are much lower, so the roads are salted all of the time during the winter and the classic cars there remain garaged for a couple of months.
its much like on your side of the pond, where travis (CA) can use his elky as a dd, while steve (MN) will still be freezing his A$$ off in april.

Re: Hello...
What in the world is going on in your engine compartment? Specifically the tubes/hoses going from underneath the air cleaner all the way to the driver side wheel well.

Re: Hello...
Diggin that brush guard.
IDEA:
Get a base Malibu 4 door, and paint it up like a cop car and put one of those on the front. That would look bad A$$.

Re: Hello...
@bigredlaguna,
The equipment you see there is one to run the engine on LPG (Liquefied petroleum gas) it costs about $4,- / US-gallon and it is half the price of normal gasoline (about $ 8,- / US-gallon in the netherlands)
The fuel prices here is the reason why so many american cars run on LPG...

Re: Hello...
@Limey,
Thanks for posting my pics !
I never used the NOS so i realy don't know what it brings, the engine what you see on the pics is a 383 stroker with '87 aluminium corvette heads, it died last year.
At the moment I,m busy to install a 350 ci with less horsepower.
It is almost ready to run....
