I've heard of this before, but have never seen anything this in depth about these cars. Great find!

They used them in Olds Delta's and I think Caddy had them too.

Two cars I could have sworn the air bags were in. In the show Seinfeld, Kramer's '73 Impala, there was a dash shot in one or two episodes, they showed that steering wheel. I remember thinking that looked like a late '70s Volvo style safety steering wheel and did not look correct in the '73. Now I know!

Also Project Blue Collar, when they go to the wrecking yard (automotive retirement center), there is a Riv they look at. You can hardly see it, but they show the steering wheel. It's the same style as this air bag wheel. MMMMMM, in a Riviera, that has to be REALLY rare!
