Winsheld washer pump won't squirt

Post by dhw3971 on Mon May 16, 2011 12:34 pm

My '75 station wagon is having a problem with the windshield washer pump. I found a loose wire, re-connected it but now all the pump does is click when I push in the wiper button on the dash. Any ideas what's going on and how to fix it?

I think you can rebuild the pump .There is a little piece of rubber in there that gets torn. I dont know if you ca still get the kits though.

Original Parts Group has washer assemblies, and a reproduction unit for '68 to '77 is priced at $38.95. It's catalog # CH26136 in the paper catalog. That may be the simple fix for it.

Rockauto has a repair kit for $5.87 & new pumps for non-intermittent wipers for $23.79. They have more expensive ones too, but these are some cheaper alternatives.

That's where I would get one then, since it's likely the same Chinese made part that OPGI has.
