1973 Pontiac Lemans wagon GTO clone
Yesterday I was told by a buddy (he sold me my '73 Buick wagon) of mine about this '73 Pontiac wagon around here locally. So I had to take a look. I'm still learning a lot about the A bodies. But I don't think there was an option for a GTO LeMans wagon, was there?
It's a pretty crusty car (the pictures make it look nicer). The paint is cracking and flaking in places, there is bondo in various places along with rust in the doors, someone had taken black trim parts and painted them with cheep white paint (almost looks like house paint), thus it is flaking off like a sunburn. The 400 in there is sold and sounds healthy. There was a very STRONG order of mildew, when you sat on the seats, then went "crunch" under the cheep K-Mart style seat covers. It is not a totally rotten car BUT if driven as a daily driver and not attented to, it will become a rolling wreck.

Given that in '73 the only year for a chevy SS wagon to be made, it would not be a far out idea. However, every thing I read has to as no GTO wagons where make for sale.
then, theres this. V

You know I think I have seen one before. I think at Carlisle PA a long time ago. That may be it though.

Thanks for the shots, although sadly to say there were no GTO wagons ever made for sale to the public but there are plenty of "wagon"GTO's running around (to look cool).
Now if I had the cash I would pick that up get 2 coupe doors and take all four doors off cut the center pillar and mount the coupe doors, re weld the center piller in it's new location and fill the rest with new sheetmetal.
(oops. for got to mention get new lexan rear quarter glass as it will be a foot longer).
There you go a 1973 GTO/Nomad wagon.

No factory GTO wagons that I've ever heard of. Thanks for confirming this NO. 7. Someone must have really loved the car at one point in time because the 73 GTO front clip is nearly impossible to find & likely an expensive part if you do.

I had no idea about the front clip. Thanks for the information, learn something new everyday.

Mostly it's the hood & the grille emblem that are hard to find & bring in the $$$. The rest could be a regular LeMans front.

That was going to be my question. I've built several 70-72 Chevelle wagons into an SS, and have a friend who made a GS wagon out of his 71 Skylark. And they were all just hood, and emblem swaps.
I've been liking the idea of building a few g3 wagons, there is a nice 77 Cutlass wagon for sale running around here that would be wicked as a 442 clone. But I haven't found a nose for my 77 yet, so finding 2 noses sound overly optimistic...lol. (Of course just adding the ram air hood to the 77 would make a wicked wagon)

remember ON THE BOTTLE that wagon nose will have to come from a 4 door car NOT a coupe

Re: 1973 Pontiac Lemans wagon GTO clone
Does the whole 442 nose come to a point? The Supreme, and Salon noses/hoods are flat across the front. In some pictures it looks like the whole 442 nose comes to a peak, (Hood, header, and even bumper) but in others it doesn't.
Would I need all of those pieces to make the conversion, or just a header panel (Same with changing my 77 S nose back to what it should be)
