Laguna S-3 Emblems

Im trying to become more educated on the 74,75,76 S-3 emblems on the Lagunas. I have some of these emblems that I am going to restore and I need to know how the grill emblems differed from 74, 75, 76. Also, were the fender and rear emblems all the same on all three years the S-3 was available? And if you have part numbers for the different years, that would be a bonus as I can match up from the ones I have.

if i remember right the 74 laguna was different than the 75 and 76 i will check into it for you

I think the shape of them might be different slightly. I have one that has extra long mounting studs, and the face of the emblem is not totally flat. It tapers back on either end from the center point of the emblem.

AS FAR AS I CAN DETERMINE THE ONLY DIFFERENCE SO FAR IS THAT THE 74 LAGUNA ACTUALLY CARRIED THE CHEVELLE SCRIPT RIGHT BELOW THE DRIVERS SIDE TURN SIGNAL, THE S3 SYMBOL APPEARS THE SAME SO FAR TO ME MAYBE ...??

AND IN THE 1975 MODEL YEAR THE WORD TYPE WAS DROPPED OUT OF THE EQUATION AND WOULD JUST READ S-3 AND WHERE IT SAID TYPE WOULD BE THE REST OF THE FLAG COLOR THERE IF YOU FOLLOW ME

Ill send you some photos later after work of the two I have side by side. They are very different on the back and shape of the fronts.

THE ONE THAT HAS THE LEAN TO IT WILL MOST LIKELY BE THE ONE FOR THE TAIL LIGHT PANEL FOR SURE.....AND THE ONE THAT WOULD BE FOR 74 WILL HAVE THE LEAN IN THE MIDDLE (LIKE THE CHEVY BOWTIE DOES) FOR THE REGULAR GRILLE AND THE ONE THAT DOESNT LEAN IN THE MIDDLE WOULD BE FOR BENEATH THE TURN SIGNAL ON THE 75 76

I would assume the fender emblems would be the same. Not 100% on the grille ones though. Since the grilles are totally different, they probably are. The grilles look different between the 74 pic and the 75 pic. Fender should be the same.

yea kyle the 74's have the curve like the reg chevelle in the middle .....where as the 75 76 laguna's the emblem goes on a straight piece of the grill below the turn signal

yes...one of the ones I have has the middle...or center of the emblem that comes to a point, and tapers back as it goes out from either end. This is the one that has the extra long mounting studs...maybe 2-3 inches long. Now the one thats flat actually has a vertical groove on the back of it going down the center from top to bottom...almost as if to lock into a ridge on the grill itself. This one has normal length mounting studs.

yep that one with the point is for the 74 S-3 <<----- ( i need that one) LOL and the other is for the 75 76 version of the S-3 for it locks ( figure of speech) into the grill to keep as flush as possible

Please see captions in photos. I believe the left emblem to be that from a 74, and the right emblem photos to be correct for a 75-76. I think Maligoon was correct in identifying the longer posts and curved back as the one for the 74 as the grill for this year has that same curve to it.
