Anyone remember who made the heater control display that goes behind the clear acrylic piece. If so I would like to purchase one if they can duplicate it.

I have a 73 heater/AC control off a Monte that says "Shea" on it my 77 has no such markings. I've seen replacements with the colored paper but listed on Ecklers's for 78-82 malibu....looks close though.

No need to spend $35.99 for that incorrect repro kit when you can have this whole A$$'y for $30; plus the ride! Pulled it off a '76 Regal. This is as close to new as you are going to find used.

im not really sure, but i think that controls from my malibu are somehow longer, they have some more emty space on the right side and there is a bulb behind them.

as i said im not sure about it, but you might want to check that!

Yeah...you could be right. Don't have a Malibu one handy to compare. This one measures about 6 5/8" wide. However, the portion that is visible through the bezel opening is the same width as on my Monte. I assumed all these "A" bodies used the same control style. Now, I'll have to go check that out tomorrow.

I went out and compared the pic to my Laguna hvac control head, there are small differences. Lettering, location of the labels, Nice piece though. Ron

Someone a while back made one at the place he works at and it looked great. Anyone remember this?

I need to find one for Heat only is there such a thing for our cars or did they all come with A/C ??

Just another darn part that no one reproduces...add it to the list. It's funny the control from the 73 monte is very close to the 77 malibu but the vac lines are like twice as thick and the plastic connection is mounted differently on the base from the 77. I'll try to post some pics if I can find them both. This may be a good topic for the Parts Interchange thread too. Problem w/ the Chevy's is the paper warps with moisture. For some strange reason I seem to think the Olds Cutlass unit looking very close to Chevrolet, at least the paper part anyway.

Dang I wasn't even close on that! Well at least the words were the same font!

I went out and got black contact paper and used that. didn't 'stick' it to anything. Just placed it behind the plastic. Looks flawless.
