A hard time for my family.

Yesterday I found out that my brother inlaw, John, was in a motorcycle accident two days ago and died. He was coming home from work at 3:30 in the afternoon and a drunk driver turned in front of him. This was all my distraught sister could tell me. John leaves behind a wife and two kids. His oldest Zach is 10 and his youngest was supposed to start first grade the day after the accident. They live in southern California and most of our family lives here in Oregon. Times like these make distance from youre loved ones hard.
This isnt the place for this, but I find writing things down helps. I also know that John was also a car guy who kepted his high school dodge dart thru to this day and most of us here appeciate what that takes. Most wish we had. He loved motorcycles and had even been hit on his Harley some years back. He sold the bike then and had gotten back to riding a super moto bike, a suzuki I believe after a long period.
John was also known as Troutslayer on a fishing forum. He was a hell of a fishermen. When i was working near San Jose we went fishing for a weekend, five lakes and seven rivers later we came home with many trout. He was also able to show me much of the High Serra Mountains on that trip.
Never thought i would loose someone in my family to a drunk driver and we lost one of the best of us.

second of all it helps to talk ( if even in wrote down words like this ) Something for sure has to be done about this epidemic of drunk drivers that are taking our loved ones away from us. again I am really sorry for your loss Jed!!!!!!!!

Very sorry to hear about your loss, Jed. Sounds like John was the kind of guy any of us would have enjoyed sharing time with. It's going to be a tough time adjusting to this tragedy...so, know my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thanks guys, waiting for money from my IRA so I can get down there. Not sure on flying or just taking the rental car the whole way. I am going to get a rental car either way.
