When cars started having almost universal power steering is when they started putting smaller steering wheels on cars. With manual steering, larger steering wheels really helped. JB

The last car I had with manual steering was a '59 Pontiac that I bought new. We didn't think it was a big deal back then, but when ya get older........ Very Happy

And I agree that the OEM brakes are fine on these cars. I couldn't tell the difference when going from 9.5 to 11 inch drums on the back. We just have to keep them working right.

I'm running 4 wheel disk brakes the biggest reason for the booster is because a lot of companies are selling the same part number for different body styles. i.e. camaro earlier gen chevelles and others but the mount bracket looks different now how is the booster gonna work if the mount is riveted on and its different but the same part number

Good question. I see that Summit sells mounting brackets and universal boosters.

ok bought a booster today older style wont work Mad
gonna return it when i get time and try something else. the cpp one is universal but im afraid it might slide down but not sure. trial and error seem to be my best friend

ok exchanged booster today for a universal dual 8" booster had to make bracket using old booster. now i have to fab up an extension to connect to pedal and i should be back in bussines

if anybody ever needs help installing a cpp booster let me know its easy i might even put together a kit if anybody is interested

Rago- Steering the car isnt to bad but as someone mentioned narrower fronts help i run a 7 inch wide front runner. But i also have a smaller than stock Grant Steering Wheel.
