Re: Laguna Louvers
Are these people part of the Desert Valley Auto Parts group? I visit that yard in northern Phoenix at least once a year when down visiting family. Anyway, I'll pass the info along. Thanks for the tip!

No they are a whole different group that have some interesting things last time I was there they had a old 50s model hemi with the bellhousing to an automatic so u can use a clutch instead of a torque converter. I hate desert valley auto parts they are a bunch of con artists

The only place out West that I've bought from is Arizona Vintage Parts. They have parts for most everything, but specialize in Caddy parts.

I agree. I've only bought one item there over the years...a pair of opera light lenses for my Cougar. I grabbed the parts myself since they could be easily removed by hand. Got an annoyed look at the parts counter, but I wasn't about to wait around for an hour or two for their yard workers to get around to helping me. Fun to look at their collection of cars, though. Oh, and as far as submitting a parts request via their website...forget it. You'll never hear back from them. Tried it several times and no response. Nice customer service...

ya ill never buy anything from them i wont even go there anymore. they had a set of 73 laguna tail lights with the chrome inserts. they first said 45 for the pair i was like cool well i went back 2 days later and all of a sudden the price changed to 25-145 depending on condition and if i didnt agree with the price there was to be a 50 dollar restocking fee i told him to keep em. and thats one of many bad experiences ive had with them. ive never been stupid enough to throw money at any of the junk they have. my uncle was though

Did get an e-mail response within a day from Hidden Valley on the louvers. Those yards down there aren't afraid to ask top dollar for their parts...are they?

Re: Laguna Louvers
Not at all that's why I don't buy from them. That's why I said as last resort's. But atleast they are honest and straight forward so I give them credit for that

Re: Laguna Louvers
Gonna try and visit a yard in southern MN tomorrow that I haven't been to in 4-5 yrs. It's owned by an old, crabby s.o.b. who will let you roam around his 30 acres or so...but, won't let you take anything off yourself. Last time I was there, he was way high on his prices and I honestly didn't think he gave a s--t whether he sold anything or not. Oh...and it was a cash only yard. What does that tell you. Mostly, just want to take the camera and see if there's anything out there that intrigues me.

Is your buddy still looking for a set of louvers? I have a set that I just bought for $150 - plus shipping. I changed my mind about putting them on my S3 (full vinyl top) - just looking to get my money back.

Don't know...haven't heard back from him since I referred him to those $200 louvers at Hidden Valley. I'll see if I can't find his e-mail and send him a note about yours.

Re: Laguna Louvers
Put my name on the list as looking for a set as well.
And you don't even want to get me started on desert valley auto parts. I can tell you horror stories about how they've stolen most of the cars they have in inventory. Their shady tactics are responsible for the "No vehicle held for ransom" law we have here in AZ. They give the whole towing industry a bad name. Not to mention how they scammed countless charities out of money cars, by running them through "their" auctions, and only selling them to their yard for pennies.

Did you ever watch that TV show they had on the Discovery HD network (now Velocity HD). Their version of automotive restorations gave me a chuckle or two. Maybe the network got a whiff of that, hence the one season stint.
