Strikingly Similar
It's funny but there are some serious similarities in the designs of these 2 generations...open to interpretation I guess but I see the G body as a retro 'mini' 1st Gen redesign. Yeah, I know...I'm a bit slow & should have noticed before now.

Never noticed before, but you are right! The 78 Malibu was retro before it was cool!

Re: Strikingly Similar
im glad more people are noticing these cars the last few years. ive always loved them. my first car that i actually drove was a 78 2door malibu when i was 16 (34 now). since then, ive owned probably more than 20 g-body cars, 13 being malibus. ive actually met the owner of that silver car at a maliburacing meet back in '03, if its the same car im thinking of. same color and wheel combo.

Re: Strikingly Similar
They are pretty quick & nimble. You can really make them fly w/ the right power combo & it doesn't take much since they are smaller & lighter then previous generations.
