its a 1950 Mercury woody wagon, one of 1700 made. According to my friend, as it sit its worth around $25,000 and can easily fetch over $100,000 restored. I thought it was pretty cool, Its the only one i ever seen.

Beautiful car when restored and that one looks pretty solid . Tell him to do right by it or sell to someone who can.

Holy cow is that sweet!

Is your buddy planning to restore it, I take it? Or?

Well, its a long sad story....

The owner had sold 3 or 4 Mustang Shelbys a few years ago that he was restoring for the customers. Since the cars were in really bad shape, he needed to do a complete restoration on all of them. in late 2010 early 2011 he was diagnosed with cancer, did chemotherapy and looked like everything was ok. Within a month it spread, and kept spreading all over his body. He died 5 days before Christmas. Since he passed away the son is finishing the projects, sadly the son doesn't have the skills to finish them. Someone offered the son to finish all the cars for him, in exchange for the woody.

They are almost done, my friend did all the sheet metal and body work before the owner was diagnosed with cancer. As of right now they're primed, with no glass or doors. Roughly they need about $15,000 worth of materials and parts to finish all of them. If this other guy does it, the son needs to fork over the money which I don't think he has. My friend would like to offer him to finish the cars, and he is willing to put up the $15,000 to finish them in exchange for the woody.

Hope it all works out.
