All I can say is maybe he didn't know you could buy them...

IDK man, that sure don't look like a CD player/cut dash to me. Looks like the same type of radio I put in my Monte. Just has a decorative plate on it, kinda blends it all together. I don't see a CD slot...

Ahh, the clips are minor. Wouldn't turn me off from a deal. Like I said...maybe he didn't know you could buy them. Everything else for G3s is so limited...

Re: 77 Malibu
It's a nice one all right. I noticed the tape also they prob didn't want to risk removal of the panel to fix the plug clip for fear of making them worse. (Ya never know) They should have used 3m green tape or blue, come off real nice.
They call it a Landau in the add, funny. He's got other cars for sale...the Mali asking price is more that the BMW 6 series he has and as much as a Mercedes.

I find it odd that it is a 77 Malibu that has single headlights, chevelle rear tail pan, and odd looking upper door panels. Never seen one like this, guess it is because it is bone stock base. Hell, this one is probably more rare than the malibu Classic. Rear window defog too...

YES. It is because it is a BASE Malibu. 1976-77 BASE Malibus had single headlights, different interiors and different tail panels than the Malibu Classic.

Some things never change.........
76 & 77 base models came with single round headlights, no chrome on the tail panel, large quarter windows. I've owned two of them & Badtemper ones one as well. They are harder to find than those quad eye cars, took me eight years to find my second one.
BTW, Chevelle was ALWAYS the base model from 1964 - 1977. That's why it says Chevelle on the tail panel.
My 76 base model, the original Brown Eye:
