So I'm also trying to wrap up this project I have a huge amount of thought and time into. My own design outdoor wood furnace. Will use one pump to heat garage floors that will operate off thermostat. Other pump feeds the two heat exchangers plumbed in the two house units. Will also circulate back through floor grid to heat the floors in the house. Have a zone set so if floors are at temp it will bypass and go straight back to tank. Here is the unit complete but the door. Manifold for garage floors which allows adjustment of each section (6 total) to regulate flow which evens out temps. Running 1" pex is rough by yourself especially 18 ft in the air. Water is contained in the large tank and small tank is fire box. Water temps control a hydroponic relay which will kick blower on and off. 160-180 degrees. Will heat the house without running heat pump. If I have enough water I will use it to do hot water heater too. Pass through system over water lines. Will hold almost 300 gallons. Hope to be up and running in a few weeks. Have to build a shed and insulate the unit outside.

Thats and excellent way to go. A friend of mine in upstate NY has had an outdoor wood boiler since he built his house over 15 years ago. He still has his original oil tank fill when he built the house. He heats his home (hot water baseboard), heats his hot water and also does his oversized garage housing his RVs, quads and cars. Its an excellent way to go. His garage heating, is not radiant in the floor. I believe he has the ceiling hanging hot water heaters with the blower behind it. He keeps the garage at 55 degrees all winter so he can work comfortably whenever he likes.
