'69 TransAm Racing
Donnybrooke Raceway (now Brainerd Int'l Raceway, MN). Racing as it was meant to be! Wonder how our G3's would have handled in TransAm racing?

In a modified state I think the G3's would have done ok, if they were lightened up & lowered to the ground. Those smaller cars could corner pretty good though. Weren't those original gen camaro's racing with 302's back then? Maybe the T/A ran a larger piston though?
I love the Porsche's in the video- they were (and are) awesome race cars.

Re: '69 TransAm Racing
I don't mean to date myself but, my dad and I were at the races in 1970 and 1971 at Brainerd (Donnybrook) and Elkhart Lake (Road America). He had a 70 Javelin at the time so we hung out with the AMC fans in their car corral. NASCAR was still limited (mostly) to the south east back then so being from the mid-west we followed Trans-Am. On year Jerry Titus actually campaigned a Pontiac Le Mans in the Trans-Am and did pretty well against the factories.

Awesome! Do you remember how the Javelins matched up? Those are an over-looked car in the collector market, too!

Re: '69 TransAm Racing
The Javelins really came around in 1970 when Penske/Donohue took over the factory program. I think Parnelli Jones in the Mustang only won by a couple points in 70 and then Donohue dominated in 71.
