Help with CD Changer Mount
Help with CD Changer Mount
OK I have a shaft type Kenwood Radio with the integrated CD Changer controls. The CD changer I got is a Kenwood 10 Disc. Ive been fighting with it trying to get from skipping. Ive mounted it a couple of different ways, currently it is solidly mounted to my wooden 6x9 boxes in my trunk. It always skips on bumps. The car isnt too rough but I havent been in the trunk to find out how rough it is back there. So any recommendations on mounting this thing? The manual says for it to be solidly mounted to something, but its pretty solid where its at. Bout to go on a trip this weekend and might want to listen to some CDs so I would like to try to get it working good.

Re: Help with CD Changer Mount
o yea dont wanna cut that ................what about mounting it under drivers or pass seat ?? but i know the 6 x 9 x you have will not give adequate protection for shock for the cd player not unless you lined it with speaker foam (like a wrap of sorts) to absorb the shock of the roads

Re: Help with CD Changer Mount
you can make a box limned with speaker foam and mount it on bottom side of package tray outta site outta mind make it out of 1 x 2 frame line it with the foam and then should be good to go, just don't mount on trunk floor for thats where all your impact is coming from.

Re: Help with CD Changer Mount
kenwood is refering to the cars of newer age for trunk mount brother for they have a better rear suspension ( ride wise) than the 70 ss chevelle

Re: Help with CD Changer Mount
If you have the unit in some kind of solid structure, like a box, then mount the box to the top of a solid block of styrofoam like you find in a new box that a TV or computer comes in to protect it during shipment. The styrofoam will be a solid mount and also take out vibrations. JB
