New guy

Post by onedayjake on Wed Mar 13, 2013 9:16 pm

New guy checking in, I'm on my fourth third gen a body. Started out with a 75 Malibu four door beater in high school in the early 90's. Next up was one I shoulda kept, 1976 El Camino factory 454, th400, swivel buckets and floor shift. After that I had a 1973 Grand Am, such a cool car, 400, TH400, 3.08 posi. Even ran 15.5's in the 1/4, lol. At the time it seemed ok. Last year I got my great, great aunt's car, a 1974 Malibu sedan. It's a time capsule, lol. Had 26,674 miles on it when I got it, has 28,xxx on it now. Drives better than any of the previous ones I had before. 350 2bbl, TH350 trans. Almost no options on this thing except for A/C, even has the radio delete plate on it!
What it looked like when we pulled it out of storage.

Put the rallies off of my truck on it, looks much better IMO.

The truck looks better with the steelies as well.

Glad to have you onboard! You're right...that wheel swap was just what both vehicles needed! Nothing like an all original G3 for ride...that's for sure! Very cool!

Hi there,

Welcome! It looks like you have a couple of nice rides there. The rally wheel swap really worked for your car, the truck looks cool with the wheel swap too.

Thanks Graham.

Thanks guys! The Malibu is bone stock right now, unsure of the plans for it. I want to either keep it stock or 5.3 swap it and daily it and maybe air ride. My wife doesn't like it and wants to sell it, lol.
The truck has a 5.3 in it now, I swapped it 2 years ago. Had a big block with an NX kit in it before that but used too much fuel and I like fuel injection, it's nice to tap the key and have it start with no complaints!
