Hand Brake Question Empty Hand Brake Question

Post by thepossumface Thu May 30, 2013 10:30 pm

I was looking and didnt see any hand brake swap or if anyone has one, my car has the crappy one at the floor and its rusted and broke and not even hooked up, and Im going to redo my whole braking system. And I would like to have a hand brake on the side to me, I am getting a new shifter (winters sidewinder) and probbly going to make me a center console for everything to look stock but nice at the same time.
Also has anyone put a winters in there car?

One of the folks here is parting out a Chevelle, and may have a good parking brake pedal assembly. Designing and installing totally a new set-up may take some time for sure.
FWIW I bought all new parking brake cables for may project from inlinetube .com, as well as brake lines I needed etc.

Here is a lokar unit,

probly expensive. but maybe some ideas based out of it, maybe a front wheel drive import or an old mustang two or something might have something to modify.
Sounds like a good idea though! I wonder if these big old cars would do ebrake slides that would be cool.

yeah I didnt even think of that, I can get a old foxbody E brake handle and just get the lines and everything and fab it up.
I would like to see if I can slide this thing and get some videos!
