Man, if I could I would. I am selling my Cutlass to help pay for loans acquired from the wedding & the upcoming move to Kansas. Sad It was either the Cutlass or the 73, so I let the wife choose. She always hated my little redhead, so I knew which one was going bye bye before I even asked.

Ha, yeah. Well the good news is I used to buy cars upon cars when I had money, so now that I'm broke I am selling/trading them to get what I need done. I'm trading off her Accord & my Jimmy to my buddy with the salvage yard for a lot of good stuff. Probably heading that way later on today to start picking parts. Bad news is the 73 is "hers" until she gets bored of it. It was either that or she would have wanted me to sell it too. More good news, she's actually looking around for a good Vo-Tech to learn how to work on cars for herself. She actually wants to help build the car! What a sport.

So for now, I'm gonna look for the complete running gear from a 91-93 Caprice with a 350. Those years were the only ones I found with 3.42 gears, TBI, & also all of the suspension goodies I want in one package. Yeah they also have overdrive, but I still feel happier leaving the 700r4 where it lies & grabbing a 200-4r. I'm supposed to be moving out there as soon as dad gets everything out, which should be a month or so. Day number one, Marvin gets a new home in the garage. (I changed the name when a kid said it was green like Marvin the Martian) alien

BTW, it was a great conversation piece at my wedding after party. We all headed for the garage around 9pm when one of my groomsmen noticed it sitting next to the 76 (had it parked up there to protect it from TP, shoe polish, & beer cans, you know). Anyways, one of my cousins goes over & just couldn't quit staring at that beautiful "black" car! (remember: night time in the woods) For nearly a month, he has been hounding me about finding one of his own. Yay, another convert!

Hey you need to bring me a bill and tear out all this interior LOL.
I got the correct front seat as well but needs recovered,
If you dont come get it, its going on ebay.
If your careful you could probably get the mint headliner out as well.
The interior is awesome shape for such a nasty car and is ther correct green color for the old 73

Alright if rago dont take it then ill try and get it out for you

I got the busted up fender off, took alot of prying and hammering. Then alot more to straighten the crunched stuff back out. The bumper, bumper brackets, and core support were all fubared up. The new fender is on and it pretty straight. still got to do a little work to it but ran out of light. looks good.
I think im gonna yank the other side off as well and paint, there was alot of grime behind the fenders causing rust issues. Justin you need to be careful with those cars at your dads, those leaves will eat them up before you know it.

I think I'm gonna try to come down & get it out without tearing it up. I'm getting there on the cash. Good thing for B-days! Very Happy

I thought you said the core support was OK? Well, nice to hear you're getting things together, guess I need to make a road trip & check out Christine. Don't worry about the leaves, all but the 73 should be gone soon enough & it's garage bound. cheers

nope the core support was bent back. The new fender is causing trouble with the hood.
Did a gnarly burnout today. It got into third gear and was still pulling hard with the 2.56s. This thing just flys down the highway. I love cruising in it. Cant wait to get the new windsheild and start getting the interior back together.

Very Happy Sweet. I gotta get down there & check it out. Did you get the Y pipe fixed or are you still shooting rust everywhere?

I cut the tail pipe off, installed a turn down on the muffler and welded up the Y pipe as much as possible. I think all the rust is finally blown out of it.

Made its first trip outta city this weekend. I got about 20miles out when the damn muffler broke where the hanger attaches, started dragging it down the highway. I pulled off and a guy with his girlfriend walking dogs comes up and says, "hey man your dragging your muffler, I got a hot rod shop right down here, you can pull it in and well fix it up for ya"
He welded a new hanger on it for me and didnt charge me anything, awesome guy, i owe him good graces. Other than that I made it all the way out and back no problems.

I got the build thought out on the new motor.
Its gonna get a 427 with 781 oval heads and a HFT elgin cam

Desktop dyno says its 422hp @ 5000-5500rpms and 470tq @4000rpms.
Not a bad motor for just some used junk thrown together.
Should do great on the highway with a lock up th350c I have and 2.56 gears.

I'm starting to miss it now that I got a big enough shop. Sad

At least I know it's getting some respect. You even cleaned off the "drive it like you stole it" sticker, lol.
