That's about how mine looked when I upgraded to the Caprice harness, though my dashboard was still in place. It's doable, but it'll require a diagram and patience. Sorry I'm not nearby.

Just my luck. Nobody close lol. I just have to figure out the wires that are cut and determine what ones are for the windows and brake lights since I don't see the connecter at all

Well everyone else wants up to $500. So a new nose to tail harness and fuse block its not that bad. And then not dealing with 38 year old wires

OK from Wally(photo of wire mess) take my word for it. Just get your self a new harness as most are labeled on each wire and there instructions are pretty well informing. To me it is the only way to go. Chasing down wiring issues is no fun and never happens at a good time.
Take trailer wiring have you ever noticed the wire problem only happens when you are in a hurry that's when no blinker or break lights seam to happen.

Start fresh and then you know what you have.

If it's new and/or in good condition and the price is right, there's no reason not to use it.  You will just need the diagram, patience, and these:

If it's missing anything, there are lots of places on the web to get wire, connectors, terminals, etc., and any factory specific connectors are available at the boneyard.

There's no such thing as a foolproof wiring harness, no matter how expensive, so as long as you check your work and are careful, you can easily trade time for expense. And the bonus is that you will have a much better understanding of where everything goes and how it all works.

I agree, labor has always been cheaper than buying new for me. Find a diagram and study it, it only looks complicated. When you start, break down the groups of wires to their perspective locations or tasks and tackle a section little by little, next thing you know your all done.

I've waded in to things like that, specially on airplanes, but some cars also. It looks really formidable when first viewed, but when getting into it, it kinda sorts itself out. Being familiar with the various connectors helps a bunch, and the wiring diagrams don't tell you what the connectors actually look like. But the wire colors do help sorting things out.
I used the '77 Elco harness on my '75 project, which was quite easy, since the '75 body was empty/sandblasted & bare, when the harness went in.
And some years are slightly different from '73 thru '77 also.
