TH400 kickdown
Hey guy's, I just got a sweet '75 El Camino...I'll post some pics and details when I get a chance. 454 runs good and strong, only problem is it doesn't seem to downshift at highway speed when I punch it. At slower speeds, about 50 mph or less it kicks in pretty strong. So just wondering about this? Thanks!

Re: TH400 kickdown
The TH400 has an electric "kick-down" There's usually a kick-down switch mounted near & operated by the gas pedal, or by a cable hooked to the gas pedal etc. It should be adjustable, to get it where you want it to work.
The electrical kick-down is accomplished by an electric solenoid valve in the transmission, by the way....
