Hey, how did you clean out the engine compartment before you painted it? Mine is covered with undercoat and surface rust. I want to sand it or blast it clean, but I don't know if that will take off the undercoat. Also, would you recommend just spray painting it, or using POR-15? I've heard good things about POR-15 as far as covering surface rust and stuff. Anyone use this stuff?

The Eastwood company has some excellant paint made just for underhood use. I recommend them over the POR15. There are some conditions where the POR15 will peel, especially if you use it over other paint that is not rusty. The only problem with Eastwood is you have to take out a second mortgage on your house to buy from them. JB

I have but there is too many electronics, if i was to go diesel it would be mechanical cummins only, the cummins would also be cheaper than duramax but either one will add a large amount of weight. id need a dana 60 and custom heavy duty lift springs, new transmission, radiator and intercooler if a cheap swap cummins itll be at least $8,000.

if you mean on the chevelle? i had the engine out and i got a combo of 80 grit sand paper and a drill with a wire brush head and took it as close to metal as possible after pressure washing it twice. the rest of the gunk was taken off with the power wire drill, then after that i used a grinder to "deburr" the enite front of the frame rails and then primed it lightly let it dry and checked for impercections grinded them down and reprimed it, then painted it with high gloss high temp engine emamel and clear coated it.

Don't use flat. It won't look right. Go with Semi-gloss or at least Satin. Also leave the running lights alone (roof lights). Otherwise it should look great.

16x8 Iroc wheels

I have a set of 4 Iroc wheels. They are 16x8. There is 2 fronts and 2 rears. good condition and straight. I bought these a couple years ago for a buddy that doesn't use ebay. Naturally I haven't been paid. So its time to try and get rid of them. No center caps, lugnuts, or tires. Good wheels for s-10's, older monte carlos, regals, etc. I belileve the bolt pattern is 5 on 4 3/4. Any questions just ask. I have more then $200 in them, but will settle for something close to that. Let me know what you think. Thanks. Lee
