Anybody watch that last night? They had a 73 Chevelle SS roll across the block, went for $13500. Was silver with 2 black stripes down the center.

Here it is.

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Archive/Event/Item/1973-CHEVROLET-CHEVELLE-187134

The only listed it as a 1973 chevelle. No mention of it being an SS car. I like it. Very nicely done. Notice the button or light near the shifter in the console. I think that might be a light to show that the line lock is engaged.

Darn I missed it but I had that on tv last night. I never watched BJ because I assumed it was all Pebble Beach cream of the crop million dollar cars. I was so wrong! I saw beautiful (albeit oddball/ non mainstream models) selling for 5,000, even 3,000!..couldn't believe it. Saw gorgeous 1966 Impala SS 327 unrestored original sell for like 17,000 or something. Would cost you over twice that to restore one. Is it a "must sell/no reserve style of auction? If so I'm gonna watch BJ .now instead of Mecum and all their "...and the bid goes on...."

Thing you have to be aware of with BJ auctions is that they auction their moderately priced vehicles early in the week (Scottsdale) or first day of a weekend auction in an attempt to cater to all sized pocketbooks. The quality and desirability of the cars offered increases as the days go by until the big crescendo on Saturday night...where the liquored-up big spenders with their trophy wives/girlfriends try to out showmanship each other with their checkbooks. Been going to Scottsdale for a dozen yrs and it's quite an experience!

Those are both nice cars. There are a lot of good deals early in these auctions. You couldn't restore either of those cars for what they sold for.

There were two Grand Ams, an SS, and an Elco. Quite a good turnout for an auction!
