Post by Mitchell Murphy on Sun Dec 27, 2015 7:35 pm

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!....Santa did not bring me an NOS dash Pad for a 74-77 Chevelle. Does anyone have one they would like to part with? I would be willing to buy or trade-I have several NOS Items for the 73-77 A Body cars. Color is not important.- Thank you for your help in this. To ALL- "Have a very Healthy New Year!" -Mitchell

Thank you for your response- I have 2 (RPO U14) gauge Clusters, One for the 73,74 cars and one for the 75-77 cars. The one has the econominder gauge and no Tach like the 73,74 cars do. I may have found a Tachometer but have not see on yet, let me know which one you have and price should I buy the entire unit. I have quite a few NOS parts including a 73 Trunk emblem. i am still trying to find a 74-77 dash pad with no cracks. I have always loved the 73 Chevelle SS and the 74-76 Laguna S-3 cars. I have a 75 Laguna all options except sky roof-with a 400, and the final produced 1973 Chevelle SS from the Kansas City plant- 454 4 speed car. on the build sheet -marked COPO and GM put a 74 Block in my car. I had a big block el Camino SS and a 73 SS wagon, but sold it- I want to later get a 74 Laguna S-3. Again, thanks for your interest in these colonade cars!

Thank you Limey for the link on the dash, I bought it last night. I almost bought another one before finding the one you sent. One for the Ac was the correct one that I needed. If you do know of someone needing a 74-77 non AC nice original dash have them call (732) 792-1117. I told him that the G3 guys might help him sell it. In return for you helping me, I would like to send you a complimentary copy of "The Chevelle report" featuring all 1973 Chevelles. If you would like one, let me know where to send it-Again, Thank you- "Car guys helping car guys"-Mitchell Murphy

Limey- Mitch here how are ya I am now looking for another dash pad-74-77. I have an unsettled claim with UPS. They ruined the other one that you referred me to. 2 huge cracks that makes it unusable. So very disappointed when i pulled it out of the box! I have been looking forward to getting one for so long! now, will have to go on looking-

Sorry to hear about the damaged dash, Mitch. Shipping one of these so that it doesn't get damaged in transit is a challenge. However, I've shipped three of them and have had no problems...knock on wood. First thing I'd suggest is that next time you find one, request the shipper wrap it like a cocoon with stretch wrap so that it doesn't flex within the box during transit. It's not particularly cheap, but it's available in 24" wide rolls at WalMart...and, is a small price to pay to help prevent damage, filing a claim and having to search all over again. Second thing I'd do is request that the shipper NOT use UPS. Use FedEx Ground, instead. It's always cheaper and I rarely have a problem with their handling of large packages. UPS, on the other hand, seems to have a reputation for rough treatment of packages.

I'll keep my eyes and ears open for one as well.

Good luck!

Limey- Have you yet heard from your dash pad source? I found another one for a 74-77 but it is a Non AC one. I will buy it providing I can't get the one that you know about. Do you know what he is asking for his? Call me and let me know as soon as possible, so the other one won't get away...I will get the "Chevelle report" to you next week- oh by the way, Great april Fools Joke-Mitch
