1974 chevelle rear end size?
I was wondering if my rear end is a 8.2 or 8.5 ten bolt rear end, it's a 350 3-Speed automatic with 2.73 gears I am tired of my limp leg and looking into a posi once I save up a couple more pay checks!!!

It's an 8.5 The 8.2 was used in the '72 & older models. The 2.73 isn't exactly a performance ratio, but at least you will have twice the traction with a posi !

As Pila said 8.5". The swap is fairly strait forward, and posi is nice, especially if you add some more power, it's nice to get it all to the pavement as opposed to wheel spin.

I think thats a good price as well as a good way to go if your not changing gears. And a driveway install. I like those lockers.

I don't have the cheap "lockrite" but the better "total traction system". It's not too bad, you can hear it once in a while, and it definitely adds power to the wheel with most traction (no more left turn burnouts) lol
