Retrosound vs. custon auto sound?
Is there a difference?
I put a Hermosa retrosound in my Monte & of course it doesn't work right.
Too much RFI from the HEI they claim. Put a ferrite choke on the USB cable no difference.
It plays just fine with engine off.
So has anybody tried the custom auto sound, & if so did it work right?

Re: Retrosound vs. custon auto sound?
I've had three Retros. One in my Laguna, 2 in Mustangs. Easy install, no issues and sounded good. I used plug connectors on all of them.
I've had no experience with the custom auto sound other than hearing that they suck and are way over priced. They main complaint is the sound is too tinny regardless of speakers and EQs.
I know some older guys with street rods that like them, but anybody I've talked to under the age of 50 hates 'em.

I have retro sound in my 77. No hei though. I do have an MSD box in it and I get a very little noise from it on some songs. Im not that picky about tunes though as long as I have something .

I've had 2 custom auto sound radios. One that I have in my Laguna and one I put in my el camino with a separate amp and subs. No trouble with either one and they work great with my ipod and usb drives. The amp and subs made the system really come alive. No issues with interference from my HEI on either radio.
