73 Chevelle SS Fuel Gage Wire or Ribbon Cable?
Hello all. Anybody had the dash of a 1973 Chevelle SS apart before? Unfortunately I gutted the interior because of rat living in vent 6 years ago then lost my source of income and it has been sitting. The fuel gage did work when I took the dash apart. There are what looks like 3 terminal connections on the back of the fuel gage but no wire in the dash that looks like they go to it. But if I remember correctly the gage does not connect to anything on those terminals and the ribbon cable feeds it with power, ground and tank wire. Is it common for the fuel gage to be fed by the ribbon cable? Good news is this is one of the last things I need to sort out before I can drive it again for first time since 2003.
Thanks.
Thanks.

correct everything thru the ribbon for the fuel gage, and actually all the 73 SS gages except for the power wire for the clock.

Speaking of clocks, this would be a good time to try resuscitating that while you have the cluster out. Betcha that doesn't work after sitting all this time. Give a shout if you need a tutorial on how to get it apart.

Thank you for the help. I am going to put cluster back in this weekend. I put a small VDO Tach in place of the clock it fit nicely in the bezel cover hole for the clock. I did save the clock though. Jeff
